about us

Sanchia Lovell is a cook and freelance writer based in London. Her cooking is fresh, seasonally defined, and beautifully presented.

Her family home is in the Auvergne region of France, and the simple, seasonal cooking of this region is reflected in her menus. Other influences include the cuisine of Northern Portugal, where she lived as a child, and historical British food.

She has worked extensively in the food industry in London for a number of years, including Carluccio's Neal Street Delicatessen, award-winning vegetarian restaurant Carnevale in Whitecross St, The Clerkenwell Kitchen and Konstam.

She studied English Literature at Leeds University, and went on to write her first cookery book Picnic Food in 2003 (published by Summersdale and available on Amazon.com ).

In addition to Melimelum, Sanchia is currently researching a book on regional Sicilian cooking, and runs supper clubs at the Charles Lamb Pub in Elia Street, Islington.
